To be an expert treasure hunter, you first need to know what you're looking for and where. It doesn't pay off to chase after the commonly told stories and legends. You need to more than the history that was taught in the school systems.

If you don't know where to look, who was involved, when the treasure first was placed, you can not get close enough to the location where you may make a discovery. I've always said, if it was easy, then everyone would do it. If it is easy to find, then it would've already been found.

What I'm trying to say is, you need to think out of the box. You need to go beyond history books. You need to be the scientist and research, the investigator! If you want to be successful, you need to put in the work.

In order to find and research old history, you need to use old maps and old documents. You need to track down everything you can to find the clues that point the way. Some of these maps and documents can be found in libraries and archives. Some of the information has been obtained in places like Mexico and Brazil. Never assume that the treasures have been found. Track down the correct information and make your decision to hunt after it by your own research.
